Tseros rustic cottage-traditional stone house- surrounded by a 200 acres olive grove at Taygetos highlands
Tseros is a Traditional Stone Cottage House, built in the middle of the traditional Katsikeas family olive grove. Tseros is located on the highlands of Taygetos mountain( 500m altitude), at Saidona Village, Messiniaki Mani, Peloponnesse, South part of Greece.
When I first visited the place, I had to approach the cottage on foot since there was no road to drive. Inside this pure and magic environment I dreamed of a place that people could relax and meditate, connect with nature and find the lost parts of their selves. After twelve years I can offer this oasis to our guests.
It is a magic place with nature trails, narrow paths among olive trees and chestnut trees, herbs and flowers, very protected and discrete with a private unpaved road.
The olive grove is producing every year high phenolic extra virgin olive oil from the koroneiki variety olives. The olive harvest starts in November, where the green olive oil is produced and has a health claim award.
The view from the olive grove is magnificent. From the East the imposing mountain emerges and to the south the sea completes the scene. Beautiful sunsets and beautiful colors all around. Wonderful energy and power. When I want to hear my inside voice and take a decision I always come to this place...it is like a filter...
The guest can use all the olive grove and taste the experience of relaxation and freedom round the year. The mountain is full of trails that you can easily follow while the beach is only 12 minutes away by car. Usualy we swim at kalogria beach or at stupa village beach. Agios Nikolaos and Kardamyli are also nearby.
The place is ideal for families with children and pets, welness groups and people that would like to have an alternative vacation and taste agritourism.

About Saidona village where the Olive Groves and the cottage are located
Saidona is a mountainous village in western Mani, at an altitude of approximately 600 m, 54 km away from Kalamata and 13 km away from beach of Stoupa, and is amphitheatrically built on the southwest side of Mountaint Sotiritsa at the foot of Taygetos. Those who passed by that place, admired the beauty of the village within the environment created by huge oaks and flowing waters with cobblestone alleys and old traditional stone houses overlooking the sea. Furthermore, the beauty of the landscape and the existence of many nightingales gave the name to the village (nightingales- “Aidonia” – San – Saidona).
The first inhabitants were settled in Saidona after the Ottoman conquest of Greece, as evidenced by the ruins of houses and the existence of two historically preserved tower monasteries of the area, of Samuhl and Vaidenitsa dated back to the 17th century.
Other remarkable monuments of Saidona are the tower of Kitriniaris and the temples of Archangel of the 13th century and Saint Nicolaos of 1830. The participation of the villagers was important in all national liberation struggles as they participated in the resistance action of 1940. In honor of the fallen fighters of the region, they have erected a monument at the entrance of Saidona, where each year on the Sunday before Assumption a memorial prayer takes place. Saidona offers a private cottage guesthouse perfect for agritourism in the middle of a traditional olive grove at Taygetos highland, with view to the sea and private road. The perfect location to meditate.
